Medical University of South Carolina Call For Poems
Submission Deadline: June 15, 2008
MUSC is looking for poems to grace the walls of a major new health center. Poems may be previously published or unpublished. Three different categories of poems will be considered. For full submission guidelines, click here.
South Carolina Poetry Initiative 4th Annual Chapbook Contest
Submission dates July 1-September 30
Any S.C. native or permanent S.C. resident who’s 18 or older is eligible to apply for this contest. Chapbooks should be 20-28 pages long, and at least five manuscripts will be selected for publication. For complete entry guidelines, visit the Poetry Initiative website at www.cas.sc.edu/engl/poetry.
Helen Hill Award for the
Orphan Film Symposium
Honoring the legacy of filmmaker and Columbia, SC native Helen Hill, this
award supports innovative independent filmmakers. This year's award will provide
funds for the recipient to attend the 6th
Orphan Film Symposium,

Playwright's Festival
If you're a playwright living in South Carolina and have a play you'd like
to have performed at USC, check out the South Carolina Playwright's Festival,
hosted by the Theatre Department's independent student theatre group,
Puppet Regime. Plays are
accepted for consideration year-round and should be sent to
puppetregimeusc@yahoo.com.
Theatre Auditions
You don’t have to be a current USC student to audition for plays in the Theatre Department - anyone is welcome. Auditions take place throughout the year; info on current and upcoming auditions can be found on the callboard in the Longstreet Theatre elevator. To learn more, click here.
Arpad Darazs Singers Auditions
This noted local choir performs classical and contemporary works, both sacred and secular.
Auditions for all voice parts will be held at Ashland United Methodist Church in Columbia.
