From the moment UofSC rolled out the red carpet at the Top Scholars weekend, I knew this was a place of great opportunity. As a freshman, while still deliberating my career path, my scholar mentor encouraged me to research the nuclear field, which shaped my interest in energy. As I contemplated the logistics of studying abroad as an engineer, UofSC worked with me to find transferable credits as a part of a new program in Thailand where I got to witness some of the most amazing places and people in the world, further entrenching my global perspective. UofSC has given me the resources to pursue my aspirations. Going forward, I wish to repay the favor by stimulating the future of sustainability. 

Future plans: Lucas will work at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Palmdale, California. Currently, he is finalizing a project with Green Energy Biofuel and he plans to earn and MBA.
