Is the knowing more truthful than the feeling is beautiful?

Impactful experience:
By far and away my most impactful experience was studying abroad in Seville, Spain, where I knew no one previously in my program and I lived with a host family that only spoke Spanish.  Creating amazing memories with my new friends and meeting people from all over the globe greatly enhanced my worldview, and instilled me with an unshakable sense of freedom and confidence.

Enjoy most as a TS:
I enjoyed being connected with a group of incredibly intelligent and intellectually curious scholars who had a deep sense of purpose, but also knew how to make seemingly mundane tasks fun.

Story:
When I came to UofSC, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to be. I knew I was a good writer, so I decided to declare as an English major, but wasn't sure about how to delve deeper into that passion. Through an SCHC Exploration grant, I received funding to write and design my own magazine, and with the guidance of my faculty mentor Dr. Vanderborg, I was able to create a professional caliber publication that I am proud of and can display to potential employers for my gap year before I matriculate in medical school.

Post-graduate plans:
Patrick plans to take gap year before entering medical school, during which he will work as a copywriter or technical writer, and continue drafting his novel which he is writing for his SCHC Senior Thesis.

Career goals/professional aspirations:
After graduation, I plan to attend medical school, become a physician, and perhaps set up my own practice.  As a passionate writer, I hope to publish the novel I am writing for my SCHC Senior Thesis, and pursue writing as a side hustle. Also, I have a long-standing interest in fashion, and a dream of mine is to start my own clothing line.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
